How to install Google Plugin for Eclipse

1) Make sure you have Java SDK version 6 or 5
  • Run CMD
  • Type "java -version"
  • If you get java version "1.6.XXX" then you are good instead you get java version "1.7.XXX" you need to install the older version which you can find on: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
2) Go to https://developers.google.com/eclipse/docs/install-from-zip and install the appropriate file for your eclipse version. Once you downloaded it extract the zip file somewhere simple say desktop.

3) Then go to eclipse, then go to Help, then go to Install new Software, then click on add, then select from local. Once you do that give it the file you extracted which is located on the desktop in step 2

4) Now go to this link: http://googleappengine.googlecode.com/files/appengine-java-sdk-1.7.4.zip to download the appengine SDK. Once you downloaded it extract the zip file somewhere simple say desktop.

5) Then go back to eclipse, then go to Windows, then go to Preference, then select google and under that select App Engine and then select add where you will give it the file you extracted which is located on the desktop in step 4.

mmm!!,  ok, never mind!

In this blog we will share all the information we learn every day in our Cloud Computing Class.

You can write new information you got from articles you read or from videos you watched that can help others to gain more information and learn new things about cloud computing in a very simple and short period of time.

You can also write new project ideas that may be great if implemented on the cloud so we all can suggest and help each other in all aspects of the development.

At the end of this seminar this blog will contain all the information that each and every one of us have learned through reading and watching different materials and also through class room discussions. This simple collection of information can be our one stop location when we need to review on the topic “Cloud Computing”.

Everyone is totally welcomed to be one of the authors, just add your e-mail address on this shared sheet
